Passion Fruit 百香果



This trip back Sekinchan manage to see passion fruit plant behind my house. Mum took the seeds from grandmother during chinese new year this year. That time we were wonder whether the passion fruit can be grown in Sekinchan.

So far I haven't seen passion fruit grow in Sekinchan (actually I seldom go out when I back to Sekinchan, prefer to stick myself at home). I only find out from grandmother that passion fruit can be eaten straight as fruit. It can be used to lower her blood pressure and treat asthma as well.

I ate passion fruit when I was at grandmother house. It was about the size of a large egg, oval shaped with a purple-brown skin and contain a jelly like pulp inside with hundreds of small black seeds. However, this trip back I was not able to eat it, all the fruit on the passion plant still unripe.


3 more weeks later that I will back to Sekinchan again to celebrate 2009 CNY . Passion fruit, please wait for me! This time I must taste you again!

2008 Last Wedding

上星期日出席了名喜的结婚晚宴,也见到了很多老朋友.


这场婚礼是今年最让我感动的结婚晚宴.其实很多情侣谈恋爱然后谈婚论嫁,一切理所当然,已成了一种形式. 但晚宴上的影片及照片播映,朋友的祝贺语,名喜自谈自唱自己当年的表白歌曲, 都令我感动,显示出他尽心尽力为了这场婚宴.

自己很喜欢的一句话:执子之手,以子偕老,即温馨又不失浪漫.但又多少人能当如此?

X-Mas Decoration 2008 in Orchard

During my 5 years studies in UTM, Johor I had never been to Orchard to celebrate or countdown Christmas, although JB and Singapore just a causeway across.

Since this year I start to work here of course no excuse for me to say never has the chance to feel the Christmas atmosphere. I won't celebrate my Christmas here because I had applied leave back Sekinchan to attend Mia Hee's and Aik Kah's wedding. Anyhow, Carol, Mervin, Hooi and I decided to go Orchard yesterday before Christmas eve. I think chrsitmas eve will be more crowded. Nowadays I feel myself seems getting older - no more countdown for me because I will feel headache to see many people.

Fish n Co

This time we try on Fish n Co near my house - West Coast Plaza.


We had tried Seafood Platter for One. The portion was too big for one person but just nice for two person. Actually the platter only consist of squid, fish fillet, french fries and Mediterranean rice. Taste was so so, nothing special. I will still prefer Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) that we tried before in Malaysia. Anyhow, I still think Malaysia's food is the best! Sekinchan's seafood is the best!

Din Tai Fung


Once ranked as one of the Top Ten best Restaurants worldwide by The New York Times, the original Din Tai Fung in Taiwan has opened branches all over Asia and the United States.

I had never try Din Tai Fung in Singapore. Last week I managed to dine in Din Tai Fung, Midvalley, which is famous for the signature xiao long bao (small steam dumpling).

Appetizer (开胃招牌小菜) RM2

Taste not bad. Maybe I don't really like minced pork.


Xiao Long Bao RM 8
I like it very much.


Shrimp Steam Dumpling (虾肉篜饺) RM10.80

I felt the skin too thick. Don't really like it.


Ginko Yam (白果芋泥) RM6.80
Very small portion, but taste absolutely good! I simply like it!


Added up 5% GST + 10% service charge = RM54.75.

Midvalley I

Bumped with Kai and Win in midvalley yesterday when had my tea break at Sweet Chat! What a small world can meet both my schoolmates when I did my shopping two days in KL! Our last meet was during Chinese New Year ba! They still the same, physical wise still the same, easy to recognize.

I don't know is it very common to bump up with some one we know in KL, at least I did it when i did my shopping in KL yesterday. There has been such a long time don't have such warmth feeling. Maybe I don't have much friends or more accurately is colleagues in Singapore. My friends are only the few colleagues in my office. That's all my world.Feel sad..

Finally Pick Up My Book

I managed to grab 3 books from Popular in City Square last weekend. There has been such an age i read book since i changed to my current job (just a lame excuse!).

2. The Alchemist (牧羊少年奇幻之旅)by Paulo Coelho

3. The Grand Overland Voyage II (彳亍地平线) by 林悦 and 林剑强


I didn't realize since when I like to read travel blogs and books. I bought The Grand Overland Voyage I few years ago. Then now bought the second series. One of my ex-colleague used to recommend me The Alchemist when I did my part time job in MPH bookstore last time. That time I had no time to read until I bought it myself now.

At least I can read up those books for few more months when I am on the way to work everyday. Perhaps i can finish them..perhaps..

Marche

To pamper myself after one week of hard work, we decided to go Marche Restaurant last weekend. My first visit to Marche was last year in The Curve Malaysia. I was not able to snap any photo due to my old fashioned VGA camera handphone. This time we visited Marche restaurant in Vivocity, Singapore. It was located on the 3rd level, rooftop of Vivocity.



MARCHE named from the French word for market. The dining environment there was unique! Upon you step in to their entrance, they will issue a card per person. When you place your order hand them the card, they will take account of the food into the card. So when you want to make payments just give your card to the service counter which is beside the exit. really different from how we dine in normal restaurant, right? It does gives the traditional market-like feel but yet still homely.

Since we were there for teabreak, we would like to order some light food. Since Hooi never tried rosti before, i recommended him might have a try. He liked the dish very much! He said he would order again if next time he come Marche.

MOF = MINISTRY OF FOOD Japanese Sweets & Coffee

Today is West Coast Plaza's grand opening. MOF located at 1st floor. I love dessert! Of course won't miss the opportunity to try any dessert!

I like the ambiance there. It is a good place for gathering and chit-chatting. I had ordered a chocolate sundae. Taste good!


However, I still felt slightly expensive. But once a while treat myself better still ok-ba! Hehe!

One More Colleague Quit!

Last week knew 1 more colleague quit and joined new company with quite good pay. I joined this project since february this year, which was after 4 months the project started. However, He was the 5th engineer resigned since i joined this project. Why bosses them don't realise there are some problems in our management and system? They keep on squeeze us, chase us for some works which we think are redundant !(Some which I think purposely to please client!!)

Why they cant keep in their minds that our project actually lack of manpower? Why wanna acting in front contractors we can do this and that but the people that do all those things been fatigued and pissed off?

If they continued to bahave like this soon more and more people will leave. Our project just started 1 year. How are all the bosses going to continue another four more year? Unless they never care before!!

,但我还是喜欢白猪肉,嫌黑猪肉味道太腥!

在泡菜學校學習泡菜的腌製過程. 他們準備了白菜和醬料給我們.中间蓝色的小杯子是人參牛奶.好喝!


硫磺鴨

有看过<大長今>的人对这道菜应该不陌生吧? 長今就是因爲這道菜被奸人陷害才會差點被殺的.汤还不错,有药材味,但鸭没什么肉.不过配上拌饭就很好吃!
